1. Nigella Express?
I adore this book now. When it first came out I’ll admit, yes, I was disappointed. I thought Nigella’s flowing, profusive words would still be there, when in actuality what I got were step-by-step directions. But the truth be told, sometimes it’s easier when you’re in a hurry not having to painstakingly search through Nigella’s words for the actual method! Anyway, the introductions to each chapter kind of make up for it.
I want to send one of Nigella’s books to a food-loving cousin in Cyprus, I think it would be just too difficult if the directions were like ‘Feast’ or ‘How to Eat’.
Also,
I have, over time, come to love the recipes. I feel that Nigella had been reading up on ‘superfoods’ before she began this book – I love that there are healthy recipes in there, healthy AND quick – great! Not everything has tons of butter and gallons of cream!Fantastic!
Sooooo, I take it all back, I LOVE ‘Express’!
You’re right, Anna, it looks more gadgety at first, but the recipes work, and I like the colourful layout and pics too.

Anna I love Nigella and have all her books but this book really was a dissapointment to me. So I’m hoping her new Christmas book is like her previous books!Mariax

Hi Anna, I love NE as well. It is different from all of her other cookbooks, but you are right, it’s a brilliant book to refer to when you are in a hurry you don’t have time to read through paragraphs to get to a recipe. And the recipes speak for themselves! I’ve made just over 40 recipes from this book so far and there are loads more I plan to make. 🙂

I use NE quite a lot, the recipes are especially good for midweek cooking!!!! As Coby says it has its place in the repertoire of Nigella books!

I adore Nigella’s books but some how I still haven’t come to enjoy this book as much as the rest, maybe I need to cook from it more? Rosie x
