Sometimes writing a blog is a bit like being in a darkened room with no-one else there. We talk to you the reader, or at least we hope we do.
But how can we be sure our voices are heard?
This is why your comments are so precious to us. We need to be validated, to be heard! They are our contact with the outside world, outside of that room. I know family members too, read my blog and that they enjoy it, but I especially value their comments good, bad or indifferent. Tell me if you don’t agree with my version of a recipe, tell me what is traditional to you and your family, for how can I broaden my culinary horizons otherwise?
And bottom line? It makes me feel good to know that you’ve taken a minute out of your busy day to read my blog.
It gladdens my heart and makes me swell with pride.
This is why I was over the moon when Javelin Warrior tried my keftedhes.
I mean, I know they’re good…..you, even, may know they’re good……
But what about Joe Bloggs? Would he like them? Would he have success with my recipe?
(Sorry JW, for referring to you as ‘Joe Bloggs’, I hope you know what I’m getting at..)
Javelin Warrior enjoys spreading foodie love! His is, I think, the most unselfish blog I’ve ever seen, always recommending the works of others, he is a gem!
Check out Javelin Warrior’s blog here.
And do have a look at his post when he made my keftedhes (Greek meatballs) It’s a great post!
I love this post! I agree, although my blogging is ultimately for me, the feedback is wonderful. It's nice to hear if others have had a similar experience, or can share new wisdom with me. Or even just say hello!

AWWWWW, thanks Anna! And you're right of course – everyone needs validation from time to time. After all, even if we love what we're doing with our lives, sometimes we still need to know that we're making a difference, that it's valuable to someone else…Anyway, much love to you and your blog – it was a great pleasure having you as a Tutor 🙂

I'm with you in the term, "validation" in blogging and cooking aspect. I'm always extremely happy when my blogging friends had cooked the same recipes that I've posted and like them!

Anna, yours is the only blog I read and comment on now, I haven't even kept up with mine as I just don't have enough hours in the day. I love your blog though as its homely and honest and you. Love all your family recipes as they are totally different to mine :).
