What could possibly be the ‘problem’ on Facebook, with having so many like-minded foodie friends?
There is a near constant stream of tempting cakes and bakes tempting me off the straight and narrow, that’s what!
Now, anyone who knows me well, knows that I simply cannot pass by the combination of chocolate and peanut butter. I really can’t..
So, when Dave in Wales posted a luscious peanut butter cake, it was like the proverbial red rag to a bull. I scrolled past, read more, scrolled back. Looked some more, sighed some more, scrolled past, scrolled back. Asked for the recipe, looked in cupboards to check if I had the required ingredients….
Oven on. Operation peanut butter cake commences.
I swear, within an hour of Dave posting his delicious creation, I had my very own!
Well, it saved me a trip to Wales eh, Dave? 😉
And the ideal chance to christen my new glass cake dome:
When I make this cake again. And I will 😉
I shall try reducing the amount of butter slightly, 200g of butter is quite a lot, especially with the addition of 3tbsp of peanut butter in the batter.
Also, both I and Dave added some golden syrup (about 2tbsp) to the chocolate topping, this gives it a nicer consistency will does not set solidly, far nicer I think.
Do try this delicious cake. It’s definitely a keeper.
